The flax plant -  when planted in its appropriate climate - grows easily in poor soils, and requires little to no pesticides or extra water. Every part of the plant can be used, from textiles to edible seeds and oil, to paper, livestock feed, and more. It is biodegradable, recyclable, and requires less dye than cotton.
