This Pomegranate Seed CO2 is certified organic, and made in Europe from European-grown fruits.
This is a very fatty CO2 extract (with a consistency like a thicker, richer olive oil) and can be safely applied undiluted to the skin. I prefer to dilute it, as it tends to be too rich for my skin. This would be an excellent nourishing oil for severely chapped and dry winter skin. Pomegranate Seed CO2 is rich in the rare Omega-5 fatty acid, which gives it much of its nourishing properties.
CO2 extraction is an alternative to cold-pressing oils, or using strong chemical solvents. Carbon dioxide, when under pressure, is a safe solvent that leaves no residues after usage. I tend to prefer and place greater value on traditional processing methods, but this is one instance where I am grateful for modern technology! This method is able to extract a wider range of constituents, and is very shelf stable.
